Whilst we were planning this trip, we decided that we'd both select a mystery location, where we would book somewhere to stay and not tell each other until the day of arrival. This was Emma's choice, and we stayed the night at The Saracens Head Inn. My mystery location is coming up later on in the trip.

After arriving at about 2pm, we went for a stroll up to Yat Rock which gave us some excellent views of the surrounding area, walked along the banks of the River Wye, across the Biblins Rope Bridge before heading back across the river on the only surviving hand pulled ferry — which is free if you are staying at the pub; you just need to keep waving until someone on the other side notices you!

We enjoyed a pretty good meal in the bar that evening, before calling it a night ahead of another long drive in the morning.

Great choice by Emma for our first stop on this road trip!
